Biography

Born in 1981 in Dublin, Ireland, Gregor Timlin studied Furniture Design (BA) at the Dublin Institute of Technology before joining the Design Products Department (MA), directed by Ron Arad, at the Royal College of Art.

"When I begin a new project I search for one quality that I can take enjoyment from. That quality can be material or idea based - it all depends on the project.

I have no style, nor would I wish for one. I think each project defines its own language, its own rules and its own sensibilities. I work very hard to keep an open process, so the paths I take can lead to the unexpected.

People are far more interesting than objects they create. I believe as designers we should celebrate our individualism and that that individualism should in some way be expressed in what we do."

Timlin is currently working as a free lance designer in London and is part of "Propwork" a collective of designers which includes Marc Owens, Freddie Yauner and Tony Mullin.
